LOBAMBA – National First Division side giant-killers, Tabankulu Callies have joined Mbabane Highlanders, Green Mamba and Moneni Pirates in the semi-finals of the Ingwenyama Cup.
The Lubombo-based outfit beat Manzini Wanderers 2-0 in extra-time in a pulsating quarter-final clash on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Snuffing the life out of the ‘Weslians’ were two extra-time goals by the modest National First Division log leaders who netted in the first minute through Wandile Simelane ad then added the second goal through Siphesihle Nsimbini to send Wanderers packing.
Moneni Pirates had to dig deeper into their reserves of courage to beat a hard fighting National First Division side, Seven Dreams 3-1 in the dreaded lottery penalty shoot-outs after a 1-all draw in extra time.
Mbabane Highlanders beat Madlenya FC 1-0 with former player Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze netting the winner. Defending champions Young Buffaloes were beaten 1-0 by Green Mamba to send shockwaves around the country on Saturday.
