Ncamiso Dlamini a student of St Marys High School went home with a whooping prize of E2000.00 after his slogan was chosen for the 15th edition of the Swazi Bank cup launch at Esangweni, Esibayeni lodge today.
Dlamini won his prize from the competition which was ongoing for an individual who will come up with the best slogan that would be used on this year’s tournament. On the same event graced by the presence of over 100 club officials from the 34 different teams, football association, premier soccer league and the Swazi Bank staff a draw for the tournament was conducted.
The MC Secretary General has thanked and urged the bank to continue supporting local football as it empowers the youth and the country at large, he also announced that the preliminary round games will be staged on the 20th of February on a venue that is yet to be confirmed.
Swazi Bank Cup, Bigger and Better
Swazi Bank Managing Director Zakhele Lukhele announced a total sponsorship of E2.6 million for this year’s tournament and the ladies football which is the first of its kind will battle for E75 000 which is a significant amount for both tournaments.
Champions will go home with a total of a million emalangeni and runners up will pocket E450 000 with an increase of E50 000 compared to that of last year. Player of the series will see himself going home with E15 000 which is a rise from that of the last competition’s E10 000. Media will be given E39 000 which will be broken down into individual awards.
Lukhele further stated that the main aim of the tournament is to empower the public through sports and obviously promote the bank’s latest innovation, the master card, in which customers will win weekly individual prizes will win. The individual prizes will stand at E5 000 for the first prize, E 1 000 and E700 for the second and third prize. Weekly winners will be expected to be clad on their full supporting team merchandise for their club to receive prizes every after two weeks.
